Ways to Donate Money to HTCCR

What HTCCR needs most is money. Here in our community, there is no king or a rich businessman to build a temple and pay for its operation, like it used to be in India. Here the members of the community, rich and poor, have to pitch in to provide the funds for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the temple for now and for the future for our next generation. We are a rich community and can easily afford to donate a few percent of our income to a beautiful, well managed temple that we are all proud of.

There are several ways to donate money to HTCCR, you choose what is convenient for you.

  • Donating cash at temple: Almost all the visitors (except the few who do not hesitate to take prasad and food from temple without donating) who visit the temple make a cash donation in Aarti Thali and in Donation Boxes. All we request is that please remember that in the last 40 years, cost of living has gone up at least ten times, and so instead of dropping a buck or two, donate 10 or 20 dollars. This is an anonymous donation which many devotees like and is in fact the preferred way prescribed in our religious books (no return expected).
  • Donating by check:If you are making a larger donation and would like proof, please write a check made payable to “Hindu Temple” and put in the Donation Box. If you are a senior citizen taking required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA or 401 K account, we suggest that you ask for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). They will make a check payable to” Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of the Rockies” and send it to that name, c/o your name and address. You can then drop it at the Donation Box at the temple or mail it to: Hindu Temple,7201 South Potomac Street, Centennial, CO 80011. Some people manage their own charitable account using proceeds from an IRA or a trust fund, and they send the checks from these accounts to the temple. While you can also write and send a check from your personal checking account, by mail to Hindu Temple, there is a risk of the check getting lost, and at worst get stolen and washed and cashed by a scammer. It will be safer to drop it in the Donation Box.
  • Donation by Direct Bank to Bank TransferIf you plan to make a recurring donation, or would prefer to use a simple method of donating from the privacy of your home or office, you should use ACH (Automatic Clearing House) for transferring money from your bank to the temple's bank. Click on the Donate button on the bottom right corner of this screen and chose the ACH payment method.
  • Donating by Donor Advisory Fund:If you have a Donor Advisory Fund and would like to use that for a one-time payments, click on the Donate button on the bottom right corner of this screen and chose the DAFPay payment method.
