Our vision for the Temple when fully established is to have a place for:
Daily Hindu/Vedic worship. The mandir is envisioned to be a sacred, serene, and safe space to offer prayers. A place to perform Hindu rituals in honor of their deities. A place where devotees can connect with the divine and experience spiritual fulfillment.
The community celebrates Hindu festivals. We hope our Devi mandir can be a hub for community gatherings where we can celebrate Hindu festivals from different parts of the South Asian subcontinent, reflecting our cultural and spiritual significance. Festivals like Mahashivrathri, Hindu New Year, Holi, Pongal, Onam, Holi, Navratri, Diwali, Dussehra, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Chhath Puja, and more.
A library of Vedic literature.Vedic literature consists of texts in Hinduism and is considered the oldest layer of Sanskrit literature. They offer insights into philosophy, theology, science, ritual, and socio-cultural settings of ancient India. We hope that at some point going forward we can host such a library of Vedic texts, which would be an ocean of profound knowledge for future generations.
Hosting classes for kids, youth, Vedanta, yoga, and Indian classical arts. The mandir currently offers kids' classes, which cater to kids ages 1 to 6. The class introduces them to Hinduism through short stories and fun craft activities. The mandir wishes to expand this branch to ages 7 and up as well, and with a bigger space now available, it can offer youth programs as well. Going forward with community participation and support, the mandir hopes to offer yoga, Vedanta, and other classical arts learning opportunities.
A community hall for personal celebrations. The Mandir sits on 4.7 acres of land; this provides a lot of potential for future expansion and construction. A community/banquet hall would be apt for personal celebrations like weddings, birthdays, graduations, baby showers, and other milestone personal events.
Host guest speakers. The mandir wishes to serve as a platform for speakers on Hinduism and Vedic literature. Educators, authors, mythologists, and Vedic scholars with expertise in Hindu scriptures and philosophy could be invited to speak on special occasions. This would be an opportunity for the community to learn and grow.
Community service. The mandir plans on being an active participant in supporting programs for the welfare and betterment of the local community. Partnering with local organizations and providing resources like food drives or clothing donations, neighborhood clean-ups, volunteering at shelters, and much more to address community needs.
